Job Summary
The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) will partner with the President of Consumer Bank to shape and execute the long-term growth strategy of the organization. The CMO will lead a high-impact marketing function responsible for brand, customer acquisition, lifecycle marketing, digital and social channels, community engagement, and communications. This leader will modernize the bank's marketing engine through personalization, data-driven segmentation, creative excellence, and omnichannel journey orchestration-ensuring marketing is not just a support function, but a measurable growth driver. The CMO will build and mentor a team, set strategic priorities for marketing investments, and collaborate closely across product, retail, and digital banking to deliver outcomes that strengthen both brand equity and customer growth.

Job Responsibilities:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build, develop, and lead a high-performing marketing organization-setting vision, establishing clear accountability, investing in talent development, and fostering a culture of innovation and results
- Define and champion the bank's brand strategy and narrative to deepen trust, differentiate in-market, and reinforce the bank's commitment to customers and communities
- Establish the vision for a modern, data-driven marketing organization-setting priorities for segmentation, personalization, lifecycle marketing, and performance measurement
- Create the framework for marketing measurement, KPIs, and reporting that ensure transparency, optimization, and clear linkage to business outcomes
- Provide strategic oversight of marketing channels-digital, social, paid media, events, PR, sponsorships-by guiding investment decisions and evaluating performance against objectives
- Set the creative vision for brand and performance marketing, ensuring campaigns are consistently high-quality, on-message, and tailored to audience needs across channels
- Shape the roadmap for the marketing technology ecosystem (CRM, CDP, automation, analytics) in partnership with IT and data leaders, ensuring the team has the right tools to enable customer intelligence and personalization
- Partner with leaders across business lines to align marketing priorities with growth, profitability, and customer experience objectives
- Serve as the executive face of marketing in media relations, executive communications, and strategic partnerships that elevate the bank's visibility and reputation
- Oversee the marketing budget with full P&L accountability-ensuring disciplined investment and measurable ROI
ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
- Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications:
- Education level required: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) in marketing, business, or related field
- Minimum experience required: 15+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, including:
- 10+ years leading teams with clear record of growth and impact
- 10+ years managing integrated marketing initiatives across brand, digital, and communications
- 10+ years of experience in financial services, fintech, or other regulated industries
- Proven expertise in customer segmentation, targeting, and personalization at scale
- Strong command of marketing technology platforms (CRM, CDP, automation, analytics)
- Experience managing large-scale budgets and delivering measurable business outcomes
- Executive presence and communication skills, with ability to influence across C-suite, board, regulators, and media.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in marketing, business, or related field
- Experience leading marketing in a regional or community bank undergoing digital transformation
- Expertise in content and channel strategy for both mass affluent and underbanked segments
- Familiarity with CRA/community engagement and local sponsorships as brand drivers
- Demonstrated ability to scale teams and functions in resource-constrained environments

Aligns relationship building efforts with enterprise goals to accelerate performance and drive strategic results.
