Proper Hospitality is seeking a Director of Brand Marketing Operations to join our corporate team in Los Angeles.
Position Overview
The Director of Brand Marketing Operations is the leader and central coordinator for all brand marketing at Proper Hospitality. This role demands exceptional people leadership and operational excellence. You will inspire and develop a talented marketing team while ensuring workflows run efficiently, priorities are clear, and campaigns launch flawlessly.

This role sits at the center of marketing operations, working closely with the Director of Growth and Performance Marketing, Creative Director, Marketing Managers (Collective and Proper), Social Media Managers, Digital Marketing Manager, and external partners to orchestrate seamless campaign execution. Additionally, this role partners closely with the Director of Growth & Performance Marketing to ensure brand campaigns and performance marketing initiatives are coordinated and mutually reinforcing. The Director ensures projects move through the pipeline smoothly, resources are allocated effectively, bottlenecks are removed, and quality standards are maintained.

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and develop Marketing Manager Collective, Marketing Manager Proper, Social Media Managers, and Creative Director
- Provide clear vision, strategic direction, and coaching that enables each team member to excel
- Set ambitious goals and hold team accountable for delivering excellent results
- Invest in professional development through regular 1:1s, feedback, and growth opportunities
- Build collaborative, results-driven culture where people feel valued and challenged
- Recruit and retain top talent aligned with company culture
- Lead by example with strong work ethic, creativity, and collaborative spirit
Marketing Workflow Coordination
- Coordinate all marketing activities from initial brief through final delivery, keeping stakeholders aligned
- Manage marketing calendar across properties, brands, and campaigns to prevent conflicts and maximize impact
- Identify and remove bottlenecks to keep projects moving forward
- Run project kickoffs, status meetings, and reviews to ensure clarity and accountability
- Track project status and provide leadership visibility on progress and risks
- Coordinate with revenue, operations, membership, partnerships, and property teams
- Partner with Director of Growth & Performance Marketing to align brand and performance initiatives
Prioritization & Resource Management
- Work with SVP to establish marketing priorities and translate them into actionable plans
- Allocate team resources effectively across competing priorities and deadlines
- Make real-time decisions on priority shifts and resource reallocation
- Balance strategic initiatives with tactical needs
- Flag resource constraints early before they become problems
- Coordinate workload to optimize output and prevent burnout
Creative Team Coordination
- Partner daily with Creative Director to coordinate design and content workload
- Manage creative briefing process with clear briefs and sufficient lead time
- Coordinate creative reviews and approvals between stakeholders and creative team
- Oversee production timelines for photoshoots, video, design, and written content
- Manage relationships with external creative contractors
- Ensure brand consistency across all creative deliverables
- Coordinate asset tracking and final file delivery
Marketing Manager Support & Collaboration
- Support Marketing Managers Collective and Proper in executing their campaigns
- Help Marketing Managers secure resources and navigate dependencies
- Facilitate collaboration between both Marketing Managers on cross-brand initiatives
- Remove obstacles blocking Marketing Managers from executing effectively
- Ensure Marketing Managers have clear priorities and adequate support
Process & Systems Management
- Design and improve marketing workflows and standard operating procedures
- Manage marketing technology stack and project management tools
- Create templates and frameworks that improve efficiency
- Establish quality control checkpoints
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks
Growth & Performance Marketing Collaboration
- Maintain regular coordination with Director of Growth & Performance Marketing
- Align brand campaigns and performance initiatives in messaging, timing, and targeting
- Coordinate shared resources between brand and performance teams
- Share campaign calendars and provide visibility into brand marketing plans
- Collaborate on unified reporting frameworks

Qualifications
Required Experience
- 7-10+ years in marketing with progressive leadership responsibility; must have at least 3-5 years successfully leading and developing teams
- Demonstrated track record as a dynamic people leader with strong team engagement, development outcomes, and retention
- Proven experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder marketing projects from concept through execution
- Track record working closely with creative teams, coordinating design and content production workflows
- Experience in luxury hospitality, lifestyle brands, or premium consumer sectors strongly preferred
- Background managing integrated campaigns across digital, social, content, and traditional channels

- Expert-level proficiency with project management tools (Asana, Monday.com, Airtable, Smartsheet, or similar)
- Strong working knowledge of digital marketing channels and tactics (you need to understand what you're coordinating)
- Experience with marketing automation platforms, CRM systems, and digital asset management tools
- Comfortable with data and analytics; able to track performance metrics and report on operational KPIs
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and presentation development
