N SUMMARY
The Vice President of Digital Strategy is responsible for driving digital transformation, with a focus on delivering a positive customer experience and building brand recognition for the Hardee's and Carl's Jr. Brands. CKE is seeking a highly regarded expert in digital technology transformation who can lead the organization into the digital age. A seasoned leader with an executive presence and proven ability to not only set a strong vision and direction but also provide hands-on technical leadership towards the development, operation, and ongoing improvement of complex digital services. The VP Digital Strategy will put the customer's needs first and will have a strong focus on delivery and outcomes that support the overall digital strategy. In this position, you will be accountable for driving a digital transformation to help drive an outstanding customer experience across both of our brands.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
May perform any or all of the following duties:
- Leading the continued development and implementation of the Digital Strategy at CKE,
- Maintaining strong relationships with appropriate technology partners (internal & external)
- Serving as a trusted partner with key leaders across the organization, including lines of business leadership (e.g., marketing, retail, product, and franchisee leadership), enabling the establishment of service standards, exchanging best practices, and developing cross-organization strategic direction as it relates to the creation of innovative products, services, and approaches to digital marketing
- Having a deep understanding of customer needs and what is entailed to meet those needs from a digital perspective, especially Millennial and younger consumers
- Partnering & guiding cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure the successful delivery of digital marketing, utility, and technology solutions
- Developing digital capacity & capabilities (technology, marketing approach, process, and people) required to meet evolving business strategy and customer propositions to achieve excellence
- Building an agile digital culture that focuses on continuous improvement, ensuring that services and approaches are regularly analyzed, maintained, and improved
- Providing executive counsel across all Digital matters and is deemed the ultimate authority across the range of issues it faces as it relates to Digital
- Leading the entire Digital functional area and is accountable for leading the vision, strategy, and policy direction in this space in consultation with the Executive team and key stakeholders
- Ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and vendors
- Attends seminars and completes other training to remain current on industry trends
- Participates in company meetings, webinars, and conference calls
- Performs other duties and/or special projects as assigned in response to changing business conditions and/or requirements
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/CORE COMPETENCIES
- Must possess approximately fifteen (15) +years of any combination of experience and/or education that demonstrates a commanding knowledge of digital, marketing, or social media strategy in a senior-level
- BA/BS Degree (Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations)
- Completed post-secondary degree, preferably an MBA or Master's in a technical discipline.
- Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated ability to develop integrated marketing communication plans encompassing traditional and non-traditional media strategies
- Ability to drive projects from conception to completion; project management experience
- Proven ability to develop excellent relationships, to manage a wide range of senior stakeholders and technical experts, and to coordinate the delivery of complex programs
- Engaging with key stakeholders and the ability to develop, motivate, and inspire a highly skilled technical development team
- Ability to be a strategic thinker, an excellent executor, and a strong people leader operating at the executive level
- Ability to manage external resources and 3rd party relationships
- Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to build solid relationships
- Passion for continuous improvement and developing others
- A Digital Thought Leader with proven experience within the digital industry.
- Experience with the Insurance Industry would be considered an Asset
- Experience with online advertising, online strategy, site development strategy, and basic front-end technology issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and comfortable presenting ideas in front of CKE leadership
- Team player with the ability to play different roles within the organization
- Experience/involvement in new business planning and presentations preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Corporate Office is fast-paced, high volume of activity, and a deadline driven environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Sitting for extended periods of time, using the telephone, typing, and/or operating a computer and/or mouse
- Travels as needed, approximately twenty (20) %
