Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The VP of Sales and Marketing must be able to perform the following essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet and exceed revenue and margin targets.
- Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities to grow market share and expand the customer base.
- Lead, coach, and develop the sales team to consistently achieve performance goals.
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with key customers to support retention and upsell opportunities.
- Use market insights, competitive intelligence, and customer feedback to refine sales strategies and value-added offerings. Effectively position the company's unique capabilities in design-for-manufacturability-combining flexible automation and precision manual processes-to solve customer challenges and win complex business.
- Monitor and drive performance across key metrics including pipeline health, win rates, sales cycle times, and customer satisfaction (e.g., NPS).
Marketing Strategy & External Partnerships:
- Collaborate with marketing leadership to ensure a unified and effective brand and market presence.
- Lead strategic partner initiatives including joint ventures, affiliations, and subcontractor relationships.
- Oversee the development of marketing collateral, advertising, and promotional campaigns that support the sales strategy.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Evaluate and optimize the sales organization structure and headcount to ensure resource alignment and territory coverage.
- Recruit, mentor, and retain top sales talent; instill a high-performance culture.
- Provide hands-on coaching and guidance to team members to help them achieve individual and team objectives.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the sales and marketing functions.
- Design and manage incentive compensation programs that drive behaviors aligned with business goals.
- Partner with HR to build succession plans and execute individual and departmental development programs.
- Identify skill gaps within the team and implement targeted training, hiring, or restructuring as needed.
Revenue Forecasting & Performance Monitoring:
- Lead the development and management of accurate sales forecasts, budgets, and KPIs.
- Collaborate with manufacturing to align sales forecasts with production capabilities and lead times.
- Provide regular reports and actionable insights to senior management, the Board of Directors, and ownership.
- Champion the design and implementation of a CRM system that supports strategic sales and marketing objectives, in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience, ideally within a high-value custom manufacturing or OEM environment.
- Demonstrated success driving revenue growth and leading organizational change in mid-sized, growth-stage companies.

Travel Requirements
- Based at company headquarters; travel approximately 25% to customer sites and events.
